Hi my name is Vicki Persawn. But my nickname was Vie (that’s a long i) when I was a kid. When I was 12 I freaked out when I saw a snake, and my teacher who also called me Vie said, “Vie Persawn settle down.”  The kids heard viper and associated it with the snake, so it stuck.  My closest friends started calling me Viper.

Ok, so here I am….Cyber Viper. LOL  What a name for an assuming woman from the southeast. But whatever, I wear it well. Maybe it will morph me into Lady Viper. 😉

I’m so excited about my new blog. I’ve always wanted one. It’s kind of crazy to think that I’m publishing something in the CyberWorld. It makes me feel so technically advanced if you know what I mean. It wasn’t too hard to set it all up. I think the most confusing part was trying to get the domain name set up with hosting. I didn’t really understand how all that works. I can try to explain it for you if you want to read a little bit more about it. Basically works like this. You go out and you find the domain name that you want. I found this one. It’s kind of crazy, but I have some reasons I wanted to choose it.

Then, you have to find a hosting company that you want to keep it on. I didn’t realize that buying a domain name is sort of like buying an RV or camper. Then you have to find a place to actually park it. Just like you wouldn’t leave your newly purchased camper at the place where you bought it. They kind of expect you to pick it up and move it.

So, then I needed to find hosting. I was interested in how this all worked. You can get hosting for about five to $10 a month. The key part that I discovered was that certain plans allow you to add more domains on it. That means that you can put more websites on the same place that you parked the first one you bought.

This gave me a whole new idea. I could actually get some more websites for my kids or somebody else and hosted for them. This is called shared hosting.

Hopefully I’ll be disciplined enough to blog a lot. Who would’ve ever thought me… I’ll blogger. So anyways couple of post providers that I like to know so my research was bluehost and host gator.

Check them out if you’re looking to do the same thing that I’m doing.

It really is pretty cool because I can talk about anything I want. I can talk about my hobbies, I can tell you where I bought things. I can give you reviews on new products and services. I might even be able to create advertising one day for some local businesses if I can get enough people to my blog

It is like a whole new world of opportunity has just opened up for me.

Signing off for now cyber blogger. LOL
